WHO IS
JESUS?
5 truths to start you on this relationship with Jesus
Inviting Jesus into your life is the most significant decision you can make in your life! The moment you pray for Jesus to forgive your sins and invite Him into your life, something wonderful happens... a new life, a new-found relationship with God begins to birth on the inside of you.
It is very important for you to understand the following 5 truths, as this is the very foundation on which the Christian faith is built upon.
I was separated from God by sin
Therefore, I cannot experience and know God's love and plan for my life.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard
Romans 3:23
Man was created to have
fellowship with God but...
For the wages
of sin is death...
Romans 6:23
What is death?
Truth 1
I cannot save myself through religion, good deeds and moral living.
Truth 2
God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Ephesians 2:8-9
Man continually tries to reach God but he cannot reach God. Why?
Only Jesus Christ can save me
Over 2000 years ago, the Son of God Jesus Christ, who was blameless and without sin, died on the cross for our sins. He was fully God and fully man, enabling Him to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
Truth 3
Jesus told him, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6
How many ways are there to reach God?
There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under Heaven by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12
Why is Jesus the only One who can save us from our sins?
But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Romans 5:8
When did God send Jesus to die for you?
I must repent and receive Jesus Christ as the Lord of my life in order to have a relationship with God.
What is repentance?
What are some sins in your life that you need to repent of?
For God so loved
that He gave His one and only Son,
that
who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn
but to save
through Him.
John 3:16-17
Truth 4
"I tell you the truth, those who listen to My message and believe in God who sent Me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.”
John 5:24
What happens to those who listen and
believe what Jesus says?
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Romans 10:9-10
What are the two simple steps to be saved?
I now have a relationship with God
After you turn from sin and self to Christ, you will receive eternal life. If anything happens to you right now, you will be in Heaven with God. Heaven is a wonderful place we will all go to. But thankfully, you need not wait till then to experience Heaven because Heaven has already started on the inside of you! From now on, you will experience an abundant life filled with peace, joy and love like never before.
Truth 5
My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
John 10:10b
When does eternal life begin?
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
John 14:3
What did Jesus promise us?
“I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
John 14:27
What is the difference between the peace that Jesus gives and that of the world?
Lord Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross for me. I am sorry that I have sinned against You. I believe You died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. Thank you for loving me. I now invite You into my life as my Lord and Savior. I confess and repent of my sins. Thank you for forgiveness and giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ Name I ask and pray, Amen!
